Helen Electricity Network increases network service fees in October
Helen Electricity Network will increase the prices of network services from 1 October 2025. The prices of distribution, fixed and power fees incl. VAT will increase by approximately 8%.
The increase means an additional monthly cost of approximately EUR 1.11 for a typical apartment building resident and approximately EUR 4.16 for an electrically heated detached house resident. Electricity network service, or electricity distribution, refers to the transmission of electricity purchased from an electricity seller to your delivery site.
The price increases are due to rising grid fees, inflation and growing investment needs. As the electrification of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area continues to intensify, Helen Electricity Network intends to double the capacity of the Helsinki electricity network to 1,600 megawatts over five years and plans to invest approximately half a billion euros in the capital’s electricity network over the next ten years. With these investments, Helen Electricity Network will improve the capacity of the electricity network, support sustainable development and facilitate secure electricity distribution in the future. Helen Electricity Network last increased its distribution prices in 2018.
Due to Helen Electricity Network’s price increases, the price of the network service will increase in Helen’s electricity supply agreements, but the price of electricity will remain unchanged.
The price change is based on section 15.7 of the Terms of Network Service (VPE 2024) and section 13.6 of the Terms of Electricity Supply (STE 2024).
