Order a change to the main fuse of the connection
All alterations to the electricity network are ordered through the electronic service.
Increasing the main fuse
Please note the following before increasing the main fuse:
- If you increase the fuse size, check with your electrical contractor before ordering that there is still “room for increase” in the main distribution board.
- If the fuse size is increased to more than 63 A, the direct metering method must be changed to indirect (see this instruction, pdf in Finnish).
- If the change requires the replacement of the branch line, Helen Electricity Network will contact you. Please note that if the work involves excavation work in public areas, the work can be carried out no earlier than four weeks after the order has been approved.
- The customer’s electrical contractor replaces the main fuses and orders sealing with a metering order. The customer only updates the connection agreement.
- The value of the old connection is credited when the connection is increased, i.e. the price is the difference between the prices of the new and old connections (see the price list for electricity connections).
Decreasing the main fuse
If the fuse size is to be reduced, the electrical contractor orders sealing with a metering order. The connection agreement does not need to be updated to a lower one, as the right to the original connection is retained.
When reducing the fuse size to less than 80 A, the indirect metering method must be changed to direct (see this instruction (pdf) ). In Helsinki, the fixed fee for electricity network service is the same for main fuses 25-63 A. Therefore, decreasing the main fuse size does not affect the distribution fee.
