Art in electricity cabinets
The application period for painting permits for this season has ended. A big thank you to everyone who participated in our Art on Electrical Cabinets project! We received nearly 300 new applications.
We are pleased that we were able to collaborate with painters once again to brighten up the cityscape with art. The painting project will continue next year. The application form will open on this page in spring 2026 – hopefully, we will see more colorful and creative works in the urban environment.
More art in the streetscape
We want to enliven Helsinki by decorating distribution boxes around the city. Helsinki has more than 7,500 distribution boxes, and some of them have been landscaped through different cooperation projects. By decorating the distribution boxes, we want to cheer up the streetscape, bring joy to the residents and prevent unauthorised graffiti.

This is how the permit process progresses
Apply for the painting permit through the form at the top of the page. The application form for painting permits for season 2025 is open from April 7th to August 24th. The form will be available on this page.
Send a picture of your draft painting to the email address taidejakokaapit@helen.fi.
We will process your application and inform you when the permit has been granted. We will process the applications in the order they arrive.
After you have received the permit, you can start painting.
