Order an electricity connection to a property
If you are building a property, you will need an electricity connection from the local network company. Larger construction projects need a separate construction site electricity connection for the duration of construction. It is recommended that the final electricity connection be ordered at the early stages of construction once the electrical plans are completed and the building permit is granted. In Helsinki, the electricity connections are provided by Helen Electricity Network.
Please note the following before ordering
A separate excavation permit is always required for the construction of an electricity network. Therefore, it is important to coordinate the schedules of the construction site and connecting. Please keep our network contractor up to date about the schedules of your construction site.
Please note that changes in the schedule will cause a delay of several weeks in the implementation of the connection due to the excavation permit process.
You should familiarise yourself with the electrical installation design and contracting instructions before preparing the electrical design for the site.
This is how you do it
Order the electrical design from an electrical designer who dimensions the size of the connection suitable for the site.
The electrical designer will deliver the electrical designs to Helen Electricity Network for review.
Order the electricity connection through the ordering form.
The order is processed smoothly when you have provided the correct information already upon ordering.
Sign the contract.
Helen Electricity Network will order the implementation of the connection from the network contractor, who agrees on the connection.
Your electrical contractor submits the basic information form concerning the connection.
Sign an electricity contract with your electricity supplier. If necessary, Helen Electricity Network will provide you with the location number.
We will connect you.
